Weird. I'm going to go home and check Miko for "elbow feelers".
ReplyDeleteTell me if she has them. (^_^)
ReplyDeleteThe other day my mom discovered Chicago's got a feeler coming out of his right shoulder-ish area. Only the right shoulder.
Ok I checked... she does have them! WEIRD.It's fun to still discover things about our babies even after soo many years.
ReplyDeleteI've also tried to google what they do but I'm probably searching under the wrong thing—apparently "cat arm whisker" doesn't cut it lol.
Ooh! Maybe it's a Maine Coon thing? Hmm... Will have to look into it. (^_^)
ReplyDeleteAccording to furrycritter.com you can find whiskers or Vibrassae on each upper lip, each side of the nose, each cheek, tufts over the eyes, bristles on the chin, the cat's inner wrists, and the back of the legs.
ReplyDeleteAs previously thought, they help aid in navigation and sensation by detecting touch and vibrations in the air!
Wikipedia also said they are all over kitty's body.
ReplyDeleteOn closer inspection, Chicago's got thick white hairs sprinkled around his shoulders.(^_^)
